Hopeless Malaysia

I had given up hope on this country.. totally. I don't think Malaysia will become any better sooner... Fuck, not even later. After the revealing of police abuse through the papers, the police doesn't seem to give a fuck about the abuse and target on the person who film the abuse instead! Malaysia feels like a mafia controlled state. The people are extorted by the police on a frequent basis instead of the mob. The people are abused and humiliated on a daily basis once they are thrown into the lock up. Fuck, we can't even report the police to the Anti Corruption Agency because we might risk a counter suit against us by a pissed off police.

Unless the government do something to clean up the police force totally, Malaysians will have to live their lives in fear from both criminals and POLICE alike
.

Wow Mum, we are in the headlines again!!

Is it just me or Malaysia always made international headlines for the wrong reasons? It seem that we are all famous worldwide for the wrong reasons. Just look at the recent headlines yesterday about the now infamous video clip about the abuse of Chinese Nationals. A few hours later we made headlines internationally.

I guess we should add "police abuse" to our nation's resume together with piracy, human rights, road rage and snatch thefts.

What's the point...

..of the fight against graft and those stupid police badges claiming them to be clean when a normal Malaysian like you and I can't even lodge a report regarding a police officer claiming him/her is corrupted? I find it really funny when I read today's The Star headline regarding the Cabinet asking a policeman to drop a suit against a student who reported him. Read the news here.

I don't know about you guys but to me it sounded like a case of an old chinese saying "the thief shouting the word 'thief!'". Well at least the Cabinet is doing something right this time.

The Snake and the Throne

This story is based on a true story written by yours truly. ^_^

Once a upon a time, there lived a snake with a big ambition. This snake here wants to rule the Celestial Empire. Unfortunately for him, the Empire can only be ruled by a Dragon (the chinese snake-like dragon not the Western Dinosaur-like Dragon). Before we go any further let's have a look at how the Celestial Empire works.

Year after year a new dragon will be selected by the Wisemen Council. Once selected, the dragon will have the power to rule the Celestial Empire along with a few other selected few to help him. As you can see, being a dragon ruling the Celestial Empire is no easy task, since the Celestial Empire is very vast in terms of land and wealth. A mismanagement will costs the Empire greatly so there is a need of selecting a capable dragon each year. A dragon can stay in power more than one year if its people and the wisemen thinks he is capable enough. Unfortunately leading such a huge empire usually will exhaust the dragon greatly and the chances of the dragon to retire after it finish its term is very high.

Ok, enough about the Empire. Now let's get back to the snake. As I had mentioned earlier, the ambitious snake wanted to rule the Empire. Unfortunately for him, he do not know that he isn't good enough for the job. So day after day he will proclaim loudly to the people that he will be the ruler of the land one day. Instead of improving his leadership, he dresses like a dragon, act like a dragon and talk like a dragon so that one day the people and the wisemen will be gullible enough to believe he is the next dragon they are looking for. To those who had never met the snake before will be tricked by his "dragonly" like appearance and might think he will make a good ruler but unfortunately for him, those who knew him will know he is only a dragon-wannabe.

So year after year he will try to convince people that he is a dragon, but year after year he failed greatly because he could not fool the people once they know the real him. Can the snake ever become a dragon one day and rule the Celestial Empire? Unless he can see his own weakness or else a snake can NEVER EVER be a dragon even if he acted like one.

Is this meant to be a joke?

I noticed this booth when I was on my way to class. Some student from the Engineering faculty of MMU is organising a trip to UM and this is what the booth looked like (snapped the picture on my way home from class just now when there is no one at the booth).

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Seriously, is the booth meant to be a joke or the organiser thinks UM's drop of 80 positions is indeed "world standard"? Or maybe he is brainwashed by the UM's vice-chancellor of thinking that UM performance this year is indeed "World Standard". I found myself laughing so hard that everyone from that booth is looking at me when I first saw that booth.

Things I don't understand

I just don't understand when people say:

A : I am a big fan of **insert singer name**.
Me: You mean you own all of his/her albums?
B : Nolah, I am not that richlah. I had all her mp3s in my computer.
Me: =.="

I just don't understand how people have the face of proclaiming to be a fan of a singer when they don't even buy a single original album to support their favourite singers.

R.I.P Eddie Guerrero

Eddie Guerrero, one of my favourite wrestlers of all time had just passed away. The official reason for his death is still unknown as there is no official autopsy report as I am blogging. Rumours are saying he died of a drug overdose. I am still in a state of disbelief right now after reading the news about his death.

Click
here to see the official report on his death. May he rest in peace.

My F.E.A.R review

Last week, my housemate Yu Xin told me he had bought a copy of F.E.A.R. After hearing this I grew excited. It actually made me to look forward to coming back to Melaka today (we were having our semester breaks). Despite listening to the complaints of Yu Xin, I decided to give F.E.A.R a try since nearly all of the critics both online and offline (including a whole bunch of forumers) had given this game such great ratings that the last time I had seen a rating so high in a First Person Shooter is Half-life 2's. After much anticipation I finally got to played it and boy AM I FUCKING DISAPPOINTED.

Here's what I think of F.E.A.R

Short Review
It's overhyped
It's overrated
It's graphics is one of the best out there
It's mediocre
It's frightening.... NOT
Last but not least it's definitely NOT WORTH THE HYPE

Long-ass Review
I just don't understand how critics rate this game as if it is one of the must play games of the year. The graphics is nice, the sound is ok, the storyline is definitely not it's selling point and last but not least the gameplay is mediocre at best. Monolith uses lots of cheap scare tactics which only work once on me and that's it. They fail to deliver the same type of scary environment you find in survivor horror games. Heck, it's not as scary as Doom or the Rivenholm (or issit Ravenholm?) level in Half-life 2. The only plus point to the gameplay is the excellent AI.

This game is seriously overhyped. It's even more overhyped than both Half-life 2 and Doom 3 put together and yet it just fall short of my expectations of that game.

Overall, I give this game a 6.5 out of 10 for its great graphics and some great use of physics DURING slow motion and of course great AI. Last but not least, I had never been both so excited and so disappointed in anything since Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.

Respect your elders they say >_<

Some of the elderly population should not be respected at all! Don't you hate those uncles and aunties that you didn't even know that act so high and mighty when they see young people? I had my share of encounters of some rude uncles and aunties that are very inconsiderate and act very disrespectful to young people.

I was on the bus to Genting and there was this uncle sitting in front of my girlfriend. The sun was shining towards our direction and when she tried to pull half the curtain to cover her beautiful face from being burn by the sun, the uncle in front of her pull it away and hogged the whole curtain to himself. When we tried to pull a little back (the curtain is very big actually) he just pulled it away. Not just that, just when I thought that was it some aunty comes along and shake my chair violently. She wants me to give way for her to take her seat and my chair is blocking her route. Instead of saying a polite "excuse me" she shook my chair violently and didn't speak a single word. Then I said out loudly to my girlfriend (on purpose) "What is wrong with people today? Can't they even say excuse me?". Fuck, don't they even know the saying "if you want people to respect you, you must respect others as well"? Maybe they think that they are immune to this saying as there is another saying that goes "Respect your elders" so that they can demand respect from anyone younger then them.

Well I can go on and on about my few more encounters in the LRT or Train Station or Bus Terminals but I think I stop here before this entry becomes a novel.

Malaysia Memang Boleh Episode III

As usual Malaysia is in the news for the wrong reasons. This time our government is blamed for failing to act on the piracy issue. Read the article on BBC here.

Well according to the article we are rank no.1 in the piracy game. This is the 2nd report I had come across stating Malaysia as the biggest exporter in pirated softwares, music and movies. The last one being last year which was reported by Gamespot. It seem that after a year Malaysia is still being able to maintain its position as a "superpower" in the pirated software, music and movies industry. Maybe soon you will see billboards on the roads stating "Terima Kasih, kerana sokongan anda, negara kami telah dinobatkan dalam 3 kategori iaitu 'Biggest Exporter of Pirated Software',
'Biggest Exporter of Pirated Software' dan 'Biggest Exporter of Pirated Software'" which is endorsed by the Government.

Will this happen in Malaysia?

Was reading an article on Rosa Park in Wikipedia and found this link attached to it, an article called the Jim Crow law which segregate the whites from the blacks. It is something like the South Africa apartheid but for the apartheid, it is more like minority setting the rules.

After reading the article a question struck me, "Will this law be introduce in Malaysia in the near future?". Malaysia might look like one united country on the outside, but on the inside all of us knows that racial tolerance is slowly fading away and it is not as strong as it use to be.

Let's hope that the dream of creating a Bangsa Malaysia will be fulfiled soon instead of this nightmare.

Babe of the Month: Yuko Ogura

Ok ham sap lous it's time for The Bear Cave's November edition of Babe of the Month (BOM). For this month's BOM we have the ever-cute Japanese girl... Yuka Ogura. Born 1st November 1983 (it's been a long time since I featured someone older with the last one being Rena Tanaka) this girl is from Tokyo. Despite her age of 22 she looks more like 16. So here's her pics.

Things that are uniquely Malaysian

I can't believe it, three entry within 3 hours. That's what happens when one had too much time to waste.

1. Whenever-something-goes-wrong-it's-not-my-fault attiude.
Whenever something bad happens, the involved Ministry will push the blame to someone else and most of the time they blame us, the innocent rakyat.

2. Boasting-even-if-we-suck-so-much attitude
I still remember that our DPM boasting on how Malaysia's GDP is higher than Ghana's when we are rank lower than most ex-Soviet countries with a hard-to-pronounce name that gain their independence way later than us (to view the rankings, click here). Another example is how UM boast they are the top 200 Universities in the World despite falling 80 places.

3. Screw-racial-unity attitude
With politicians shouting racist stuffs in the parliament and still get away with it, it is no wonder after so many years of independence, racial unity is still so far away. **CENSORED**

So there you have it, the three things (that I can think off) that make us uniquely Malaysian. Feel free to add more in the comments area.

Why can't local grads can't get hired (The Bear Cave Edition)

Woke up this afternoon and the first thing I do was read the newspapers (The Star). A glance at the headlines I am pissed. As usual they are blaming parents and grads on the local grads unemployment rate. Look, as much as the parents and the grads are to blame, the government should also share the blame.

Why can't grads get a job? Why can't higher education ensure grads a job? At the rate our government are giving University status to colleges, I can see why most of the companies out there do not trust the quality of education here. Not just that, you can see private colleges those with a size of a shophouse or smaller that is tied to some foreign university that is unheard of are beginning to sprout out like mushrooms after the rain. There is no control over the amount of private colleges in this country. At this rate, sooner or later we are going to become another India. Everyone you see on the streets are degree holders.

Another reason why companies refuses to employ local grads is simple, the quality of our Univeristies (especially public ones) are declining. Just look at UM. They drop 80 places in just one year and still they are celebrating as if they got number 1 and they seem that everything is ok. When you drop so many places in just one year the first thing you do is ADMIT your mistakes and learn from it. If I am the boss of some company (be it a small one) do you think I will employ grads from UM?

The last reason I am going to stress about is ENGLISH. Unless we have a market as big as China or have kickass technologies that can rival the Japanese, English is very important. Whether our UMNO politicians like it or not, when we get into the job market (private sector) the only chance we can use BM is when ordering food from mamak stalls or dealing with incompetent government workers. The government especially the stubborn Pemuda UMNO politians should wake up from their "blind nationalism" and start encouraging Malaysians to start learning English. They should as well stress the importance of English instead of avoiding it like the plague.

So there you have it, my second rant on this whole local grads unemployment thingy. Here's the link to my first one.

I am so embarass to be a Malaysian now...

After seeing the pictures from Lim Kit Siang's website (click here for the blog entry) I suddenly felt so embarass to be a Malaysian. I can hear the sounds of laughter by foreigners now when they ever saw these two pictures (provided they know how to read Bahasa Malaysia).

They are even celebrating with this result I wonder what will happen if they got up a rank next year. Maybe the government will declare a public holiday to honour UM then.

Vanilla Coke to be canceled? NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Was browsing Yahoo! news (as usual) and saw this. Good news is, it is only canceled in the US. Vanilla Coke had been my favourite soft drink ever since I first tasted it. The nice creamy taste of vanilla mixed with Coke, it's like drinking an ice cream float but only tastier. Its a surprise that it is not doing well in the US.

Hope they won't cancel it in Malaysia.... **prays**

Random Thoughts

Why is it ok for a BN MP to say shout some racist remark in the parliament when it is not ok for a normal citizen to talk about issues like racial equality?

Twin Towers on Fire....Literally

Was browsing through Yahoo! when I saw this headline: Fire Starts at Petronas Twin Tower.

First thought. Luckily it was in the middle of the night or else, being Malaysians, a stampede will occur among the crowd.

Malaysia Memang Boleh...Episode II

Got this from Bernama's site after reading Lim Kit Siang's blog.

Shafie said that in terms of points, the results achieved by UM were still good but owing to the introduction of the positions and the inclusion of more universities in the ranking, its position slid.

"Performance-wise, the UM is still good but because the points between one university and the next are too close, even missing two or five points can result in a big drop in position," he added.

Seems that my theory of UM wanting to break the world record of being the "World's Worst University" in 2 years is true after all. Maybe the taxpayers can give him a award for the "Most Thick-skinned Minister". Read the full report here.

Guess this is part of being uniquely Malaysian. We never admit our mistakes no matter what.

Things I can't stand in Friendster....

I just don't understand how some Friendster users abuse the messanging system in Friendster. Just when you thought chain mails and those touchy spam mails are only limited to the bulletin board, now people are doing that on your inbox. Sheesh... that's annoying, just annoying. Why can't they just spam the bulletin board instead like what I use to do all the time when I am bored with those useless quizes?

SELAMAT Deepavali and SELAMAT Hari Raya

See how I stress the word "Selamat"? That is because every year major festive seasons such as these (Chinese New Year included) are far from being Selamat(safe). Every year there are deaths on the road which can be very much avoided. The superstitious might say that the road is very "che" (haunted in cantonese) but the real reasons that there are so much death during these festive seasons are caused by drivers themselves. Seriously, Malaysians are very bad drivers. They have zero tolerance on the road. They curse and swear each time a n00b driver made "rookie" mistake on the road. They always wanted to get to the destination the fastest way possible regardless of their safety. Despite of newspaper reports on the total of deaths each festive season, Malaysian drivers seem to ignore it. With drivers like these, no wonder we are still stuck with the third world status.

To all the Malays and Indians, Selamat Hari Raya and Selamat Deepavali and please drive safely.

Random Thoughts

It's ironic that in some countries like Singapore, Muslims are fighting for their rights to a wear tudung (headscarves) to school while in Malaysia non-Muslim students are fighting their asses off to not wear it.

What happen to the freedom of religion which is stated in the constitution. Sigh~

Malaysia Memang Boleh...

Wow so many things happened when I was in KL. When I got back yesterday I found out that University Malaya had drop 80 places to 169th in THES University Ranking. Wow, that's really quite a feat. I mean, not everyone can drop 80 places in just one year you know. It must had took something to make them drop so much. Maybe the people in UM is thinking "Heck, if we can't get first, my as well settle for last since it's easier" and TADA! one year later they drop 80 places.

So guys, go easy on them because they are trying to put Malaysia on the map with yet another world record in two years time. "The Worst University in the World" record that is.

Killer Public Transports!!!

Is it just me or KL public transports are dangerous? I don't know if this happens on a regular basis (since I am not from KL) but I was nearly squashed by the sliding doors in a LRT station and was force to do a Jackie Chan stunt on a Mini Bus and these 2 things happened all in one day!

I was entering the LRT and halfway inside the door (the station's door, not the LRT's) began to close and hit my elbow hard and for a second there I was stunned and luckily my girlfriend pulled me out. Don't the LRTs have this censor thing to sense there are still pessengers going in? My friend got his clothes stuck in between the LRT doors and was force to wait by the doors until the next station.

A few hours later as I was about to go back (this happened in Kajang), I took a mini bus. The mini bus was packed (I think it carried passengers twice its capacity) and I stood near the door. When the bus stopped at a station someone from behind wants to get off the bus so the bus driver told me to go down the bus first so that the person can get off the bus. So I got down the bus and once the guy got off the bus driver started moving. Panicked, I ran after the bus while grabbing the pole near the bus' door. And ran for a while before getting on. What's worse the driver did not stop, he didn't even notice me. Luckily the bus is going very slow and I was able to get on the bus.

Is this normal in KL? Had any case about LRT doors closing when you are getting on the LRT happened to you? Please feel free to leave a comment.

Spanners... don't you hate them?

I just hate spanners. No, not the one you can find in the toolbox. I am talking about those assholes who will hit on your girlfriend eventhough they know she is attached. Currently there is this one particular asshole who is trying to hit on my girlfriend despite of her rejecting him several times (talk about having a thick skin huh?). Its not that I am afraid of my girlfriend running away, its just that he is just fucking annoying. Imagine some guy bothering your girlfriend everytime by calling her often even you know that he doesn't had a chance. Annoying isn't it?

He's even more annoying now as we are having our semester break and he seems to be calling my girlfriend often which my girlfriend found it very annoying. Dammit, spanners (even those sucky ones) should be castrated I tell you!!!

What Marvel vs EA should look like

EA had recently released a game title Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects. The game is actually about Marvel Superheroes/villians vs EA created characters (since EA do not have "superheroes" unlike Capcom). So basically it is Marvel vs EA. Still I think this is what the real Marvel vs EA should look like (using EA's own roster).

Iron Man vs Tiger Woods - its millionaire vs millionaire with Tony Stark's iron armor vs Woods' Iron

Captain America vs an army of Chinese soldiers from Battlefield 2 - Its the no.1 American patriotic Superhero vs an army of patriotic Chinese soldiers. Its one superhero vs an army of gun-wielding normal human beings

The Thing vs Nissan Skyline (from Need for Speed Underground series) - Its muscle man vs muscle car.

Magneto vs Gandalf (EA own rights to LOTR ) - Sir Ian McAllen vs himself in this mutant powers vs wizardry battle.

Babe of the Month: Ayaka Komatsu

Saw this cutie when I was randomly surfing (no not porn) and decided immediately that she is going to be my babe of the month. When I dug up more details I found out that she is actually one of the Sailor Moon (Venus) in the sucky show Sailor Moon Live Action Series, which one of my housemate Wei Kin love so much. Now I know why Wei Kin love that series so much, I swear to not laugh at him for watching Sailor Moon again (you should stop too Yun Chuan)!

Ok back to her details, she is only 19 this year (either I am getting old or all the babes are getting younger >_<) and is born on July 23rd 1986. Enough about her, here's the pics: Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Random thoughts...

Was watching a Singapore channel and there's an ad about Daredevil the movie showing next week on that channel and something struck me.

Why did the censorship board ban the movie Daredevil (some say it is ban due to the title contain devil) and still let allow Man Utd matches to be aired?

6 Months and still going strong

DISCLAIMER: This post is about me and my girlfriend. If anyone reading this is offended by mushy stuffs stay away... hehe... I will not be responsible if any of you guys (kenneth and melvin especially hehehe) felt nauseaus after reading this post. Read at your own risk ^_^

6 months... that's like half a year. That's like 24 weeks or 187 days or 4488 hours or 269,280 minutes or 16,156,800 (that is if all my calculations are assumed to be correct). That is the amount of time that me and my girlfriend had been together and it seems that our relationship is getting stronger each passing day. I can't believe that we had been sticking to each other for so long already since I had heard a lot of horror stories about couples getting bored of each other after the 3 months period. True we had our arguments every now and then but everytime after one huge argument we seem to be sticking to each other more.

Well enough of these mushy stuffs, I just hope we can be together for as long as our life permits. Dear, if you are reading this I want to tell you I love you very very very much.

Health problems...

I am currently being plague by two serious problems. The first one is my over sensitive nose since birth and the other is my bad back which started since last year due to late night sleep and stuff like that. Well I had enough of all this.

First my nose is getting from bad to worse. It is getting more and more itchy these days and most of the time it is so itchy that I have to scratch it til' it bleeds. Ever since I am young I had been tortured by my nose, its like I have lost the ability to smell. I can't smell anything that have a very weak scent. This sucks because I can't really taste food as it is meant to be. I can only taste the overall taste not the detail taste of the food. The only thing that can "cure" the itch temporarily is by eating flu medicine that will knock me out like a bear hibernating during winter time. The side effects the medicine had on me is drowsiness, no matter how much I sleep the next day I will still feel the effects of the medicine.

To make this worse my back is also getting worse. Each time I sit or stand for more than 2 hours it will start to ache. This sucks because I can't concentrate fully on gaming or studying while long hours means more pain on my back. I can't do simple chores that require me to bend down (stop thinking elsewhere pervs!) for like more than 10 minutes. I just can't believe I had a bad back at this young age >_<>

Corruption...Corruption

Was reading The Star today (yesterday if you want to be precise) and the headlines read "ACA nabs son of Senior Cop". I was wondering what is it such a big deal? Its just some cop's son, its not like its some big shot that is caught or anything. Why is it in the headlines? Is it placed there to tell the people that the government is doing its very best to fight graft?

When will it be the day that we see "S*** V**** Suspected for Corruption" or "R****** caught for Corruption" instead?

Welcome to Malaysia

This is on Monday's Straits Time (click link for full story):

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who is the BN whip, hauled up Datuk Bung Moktar Radin (BN-Kinabatangan) and Datuk Mohamed Aziz (BN-Sri Gading) and said he would refer them to the Cabinet as they had breached party policy.

The two had supported a motion by Opposition leader Lim Kit Siang to refer International Trade and Industry Ministry secretary-general Datuk Sidek Hassan to the Committee of Privileges.

Najib said under the party’s policy and practice, BN MPs cannot support a motion by an Opposition party.

"As such, we have informed the two MPs involved. They have expressed their regret and offered their apologies," he said at the Parliament lobby here.

In short, two MPs is getting their ass grilled and force to apologise for supporting the Opposition on the AP issue. Is this what democracy is all about in Malaysia? One must be in full support of his/her party eventhough it is in the wrong?

They did that too...

The next time your teacher or lecturers or some God-damn PTPTN officers reprimand you for being rude for talking when they are teaching or giving a speech, tell them it is not because MPs do it all the time in the zoo Parliament. If it is ok for them to do it, it should be ok for you too. Malaysia memang boleh!

Smoke in Crowded Areas

I guess every non-smoker had their experience of having to inhale cigeratte smoke each time they go to a crowded area. Most smokers in Malaysia don't seem to be aware that each time they smoke a cigeratte in crowded areas, a non-smoker suffer. Each time I get on a non-air conditioned public bus in Melaka, I will get smoke hitting my face either from the driver or some pre-pubescent kid. Is there too much smoke in their brains that they can't think properly? Smoking in public is very irresponsible as you are forcing non-smokers (who chose to be lung cancer free) to die slowly with you!

Is there any rules in Malaysia banning smoking in public areas? If there aren't why isn't it implemented? True, smokers had the right to smoke but so does non-smokers. We had the right of also not to smoke, so don't force use to inhale the smoke you had exhaled. If you want to smoke, do it privately at a corner where there is no one around (or alternatively you can go to a corner where all the smokers are at).

Bear Season?

Is it just me or is Bear hunting season on? It seems that I nearly got killed twice yesterday. I nearly got run down twice when I was walking at the side of the road. Its not like I walk in the middle of the road or trying to cross a busy highway with one leg or something, I walk at the very side of the road and anymore I will have to walk the drain and yet a motorcycle without his headlights on (guess he must be emulating Takumi) and a speeding 4 Wheeler. What is it with driver's and motorcyclists these days? Is driving at the side of the road where there are pedestrians a trend now? Or they just want my handsome face as their hunt trophy to be displayed on top of their fireplace?

Finding Chow Sheng...

Yesterday night I got a phone from one of my best friend, BK that my friend Chow Sheng is in Bali for a holiday. I was shocked. He told me he will call his family to ask whether he had called home or not and we hanged up. After a while I call BK back and he told me that his family still do not know whether he is safe or not. As I blog this I still do not know his whereabouts and don't know is he safe. The only consolation I get is that so far no Malaysians or Singaporeans (he is there on a holiday with his Polytechnic pals) is hurt or killed.

May we all pray for his safety.

To Give or Not To Give?

Last Wednesday when I was in the pasar malam I came across two beggars. Both beggars had lost one of their legs and they are crawling with their hands and their bellies on the ground. They have a piece of plastic cover to placed under their bellies of course. When I looked at them felt this huge amount of sympathy towards these two beggars until my logical part of my brain tell me that two beggars with the same handicap, crawling on plastic covers (which even had the same quality and colour) I tell myself they might be from some underground syndicate preying on our sympaties. So I resisted the urge to put money in their containers.

After walking around I come back to where those two beggars are crawling and my heart felt heavy with sympathy again (believe it or not, I have a soft heart). Then again I am in the dillema of either to donate or not. At the end I resisted that urge and go with my logical part of my brain and just walk away.

Sometimes I really wish to help those beggars by donating but news of underground syndicates who pray on our sympathies and news of how some beggars are even richer than our parents with an honest job just make me think another way. Sometimes because of these people we don't know who are the real ones who need our help and who don't. If only this world is a little more straightforward.

My God... Again?

Just when you thought lightning never strike twice at the same place, Bali is bombed again. Damn you terrorists, why can't you go identify the real enemy and leave civilians out of the picture?

Guess the least we can do now is say a short prayer for those victims.

Initial D: Malaysia Stage

Me, Melvin and Yu Xin was discussing what would happen if Project D (the illegal road racing team from Initial D Fourth Stage) ever came to Malaysia to challenge the road racers here. Warning: Explicit content

**some place in Malaysia**

Ryosuke: So what information had you got about our opponents?

Team member 1: Well it seems to me that the road racers here have very low knowledge about cars. Their driving skills are horrible at best and they prefer to race in highways other than mountain passes like us.

Ryosuke: Any information about their cars?

Team member 1: It seems that most of the drivers here drive an underpowered 1.5litre car that looks like a direct Evo 3 rip-off called a Wira. The most powerful of them all is the 1.8litre car which looks like a horrible clone of the Evo 8 called the Wajah. All of the cars are heavily modded and look ugly too most of them have blinding xenon lights and unmatching neon lights. There is also another car which seems to be quite popular among racers here. It's a Move wannabe car called the Kelisa. It is seriously underpowered.

Ryosuke: I see. I think we had wasted a trip here to Malaysia here then. I will go cancel the battles with the leader then.

Ryosuke walks to the "clan" leader

Ryosuke: I think we will cancel the race. It seems to me that you guys can't match us in terms of skills and horsepower.

Leader: Kanina, what are you talking about? Why you scared to race with us ar?

Ryosuke: Its not that. Its just that your cars....

Leader: Ma hai, you think u drive RX-7 dunnit die ar? Scared to race us say la. I know we too good for you. Scared say scared la say we lousy.

Ryosuke: Very well if you insist then we shall race. Keisuke! Get ready.

After the race... (which is clearly won by Keisuke)

Leader: Kanina, you all damn cheater one. Use this type of cars to bully people. Hate people like you. Know your car beri fast still want to bully people. Nebermind you wait. I call my blah-duhhoot you.

Ryosuke to Team member 1: Sigh~ Why do we have come to this shit hole to race?

Why Blog?

Recently one of my friends said that blogs are for people who had seriously nothing to do with their lifes. I did not want to be bothered of what he said since he is that sort of person who speak loudly and emptily all most of the time. So the best is just ignore him whenever he barks in real life.

Too bad he fail to see that like his past time photography, blogging is some sort of a past time too. Like his typical self, he never respect things people do that seems different from his point of view. Ok enough about him. Let's get to the reason why I blog.

I was introduced to blogging by my ex-housemate Fazri a.k.a Silencers who told me that I should try it sometimes. Before I knew it, I had open an account at blogger. At first I treat my blog as a diary but as time goes by I decided that writing a diary online's where I find it kinda boring so I deleted my previous blog and started a new blog where I can state my opinions about anything. Be it movies, games, politics, babes, MLM bashing or anything I find interesting, I just want to voice out my opinions since most of the time I can't do it real life. Try discussing politics real life (in MMU that is) and you get those smart ass and immature comments. Try to bash MLM in MMU and you might get hordes of zombies after you. So since I have no place to voice my opinions real life I might as well do it online.

So what are your reasons to blog?

Mega Review 3: Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas (PC)

How do you describe San Andreas? Its controversial, funny, violent and fun. Porting it from the PS2 to the PC means it is now officially beautiful. Yes, the great gameplay is now paired with good graphics in the PC version.

Ok the story start off with Carl Johnson (CJ) returning home to Los Santos from Liberty City, a city torn apart by gangs, to attend his mum's funeral. Upon his arrival he is framed by Officer Tenpenny, a cop so corrupted that he can make Malaysian cops look squeaky clean, of murdering another law enforcer. After being threaten by Tenpenny to arrest him unless he help him do his "chores" (no not cleaning his house), he is thrown into a rival gang's territory. Here's where the story starts to kick off with one twist after another. The whole story is excellent. The chracters are well developed and are very colourful. From the crazy crack-smoking hippy The Truth to the funny Triad leader Wu Zi Mu. Enough with the story let's go on to the gameplay.

Gameplay is awesome. You have three huge cities to play with and between each cities there are countrysides which make San Andreas one huge virtual playground. Besides that you have tons of vehicles to steal from and tons of side missions to complete. The freedom in San Andreas is nearly limitless. You can play pool, do stunts with a BMX, play basketball or kill random people to boost your stats. Yes, San Andreas had turn semi-RPG. Drive a car and your driving skills increase, kill people with a Uzi your uzi skills increase, go to the gym your body grows stronger and eat more you gain fats. Simply put, the gameplay is just awesome.

Like I mention earlier, the graphics for San Andreas is beautiful. The details in the buildings had been increased and you can actually enjoy the scenary once in a while and not laugh at the bad graphics. Sound-wise, the sound is not really that good. I have problems with listening to WCTR. It seems that the sound of WCTR seems kinda soft when I played it on my computer. The voice acting seems louder than the background and the surround sounds sounded more annoying than adding flavour to the game.

So what is my overall rating for San Andreas? I give it a 9.5 out of 10. If not for the sound I might gave it a 9.8 out of 10.

Zombie Detection and Countering

The previous entry I posted a link and commented on the Lies in MLM, now I post some tips on how to detect and counter a MLM distributor.

Early Detection

1. A friend that you had never contacted for a very long time or an aquaintance you hardly know at all suddenly call you out to have a drink. Most probably this person is a distributor, so try to avoid it at all costs.

2. A close friend from your hometown come to visit you with short notice and do not want to tell you the reason for the visit. Since that person is your close friend, of course you can't avoid meeting him/her.

3. A close friend of yours started asking, "Are you interested in making money?" or "Are you interested in having your own business?". That's the most obvious of them all. Just answer "NO!" period.

Ok, just in case your friend is smart and ask you out to go have a drink with them with none of the "symptoms" stated above, here's how to know he/she is trying to force persuade you to be his/her downline before he even started talking.

Late Detection

1. He/She brings an unknown friend or relative along with him/her.

2. His/Her friend started to ask you questions on what you intended to do with your future.

3. They start asking random questions but most of them revolve around your career choice and how much you earn.

4. His/her friend will start to know you more.

5. Your friend will be most of the time the supporting actor during the whole conversation.

Just in case your friend come in alone and is very straight to the point, which happen to me one time, these are what of the frequent questions they ask and how you can answer them.

Questions and Answers

Q1: I have this great business plan. Are you interested in hearing it out? It is the most simple way of making money.
A1: No, I am not interested. I am not interested in Direct Sales or any Multi-Level Marketing company.

Been train to counter such reply they will continue asking

Q2: Why are you not interested? Can you tell me a reason? Don't you like making money?
A2: As interested as I am in making money, I also want to keep my friends. Nowadays people are annoyed of MLM and those who are not, haven't heard of MLM. True there are some people who get rich by joining MLM but what is the percentage? You guys said it is easy all the time, but is it that easy? Most of you guys are actually very dishonest when presenting your business plans. Have you ever read the actual statistics of a person succeeding in MLM? No? [Continue to tell him about the statistics you had read from the site I had linked from my blog].

If he still insist on and start telling about how this poor friend of his/her started making tons of money or this durian-selling uncle from God-knows-where strike rich when he started MLM, just tell him that you are not interested no matter what he tells you. Tell him that no economy expert had ever advice anyone to join a MLM company and stop talking about money. Call him to wake up from being a money-minded zombie and start looking at things the other way.

So here's all my tips for detecting and countering those annoying MLM people. If there are more ways to detect and counter it feel free to post it in the comments section.

Babes of the Month: Yuffie and Tifa

Its CGI babes galore this month with the release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Never since Rinoa that looking at millions of pixels is such a pleasure to the eyes. Instead of just one babe I will feature two this month since I can't decide which looks hotter Tifa or Yuffie. So here's some screenshots of them from Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

Tifa smiling. Ain't she beautiful?

Don't get me wrong people, I am still a big fan of Aeris but posting her as Babe of the Month does not suit her well. She is more suitable for the title Goddess of Video Games.

Lies in Multi-Level Marketing

I was looking at my friend's status on my Yahoo! Messenger and one status from Wilz which caught my eye. A link labeled The Ten Big Lies of Multi-level Marketing. I am never a big fan of Multi-level Marketing (MLM) because most of their "distributors" or whatever they call themselves are either damn annoying or they don't sound honest each time they try to persuade someone to be their "business partner. Please click on the link I provide to have a look at the site. Here are the few points I found true:

Lie #3: Eventually all products will be sold by MLM. Retail stores, shopping malls,
catalogs and most forms of advertising will soon be rendered obsolete by MLM.

Truth: Fewer than 1% of all retail sales are made through MLM, and much of this is consists of purchases by hopeful new distributors who are actually paying the price of admission to a business they will soon abandon. MLM is not replacing existing forms of marketing. It does not legitimately compete with other marketing approaches at all. Rather, MLM represents a new investment scheme couched in the language of marketing. Its real products are distributorships that are sold through misrepresentation and exaggerated promises of income. People are buying products in order to secure positions on the sales pyramid. The possibility is always held out that you may become rich if not from your own efforts then from some unknown person ("the big fish") who might join your "downline."

MLM's growth does not reflect its value to the economy, customers, or distributors, but the high levels of economic fear, insecurity, wishes for quick and easy wealth. The market dynamics are similar to those of legalized gambling, but the percentage of winners is much smaller.

I find this line very true. Most of the time those MLM guys will say that their business plan is the future. They say that their product is as reknown as another product and that their product don't even need advertising to get this far.

Lie #4: MLM is a new way of life that offers happiness and fulfillment.
It provides a way to attain all the good things in life.

Truth: The most prominent motivational themes of the MLM industry, as shown in industry literature and presented at recruitment meetings, constitute the crassest form of materialism. Fortune 100 companies would blush at the excess of promises of wealth, luxury, and personal fulfillment put forth by MLM solicitors. These appeals actually conflicts with most people's true desire for meaningful and fulfilling work at something in which they have special talent or interest.

Another lie that I totally agree. MLM zombies distributors always use this line to motivate people. They always use the weakness that every human being seems to have, money. According to them, the more money you make the more happy you are. By being their business partner, you can be happy.

Lie #6: Success in MLM is easy. Friends and relatives are the natural prospects.
Those who love and support you will become your life-time customers.

Truth: The commercialization of family and friendship and the use of"'warm leads" advocated in MLM marketing programs are a destructive element in the community and very unhealthy for individuals involved. People do not appreciate being pressured by friends and relatives to buy products. Trying to capitalizing upon personal relationships to build a business can destroy one's social foundation.

Another line made famous by MLM zomb... er.. distributors, the more you pressure your friends and family to be you business partners, the more they hate you and avoid you. By the end of the day all your friends might runaway everytime they see you and your family members will avoid you as if you have the plague.

I advice all of you to go to the site and read the entire content. It is very informative. So people, before you are forced persuaded by your friends to be one of those MLM zombies, please think twice. True there are some people who make it rich in MLM but exactly what is the percentage of such people? Of the thousands of people how many of them actually is that rich? I was tricked into MLM once by the "if you spend RM100 each month and each week you find 2 people to be your downline, in a year you can earn thousands". Thankfully the fees for membership is less then RM100. I treat this as a lesson to be not so materialistic or else people might capitalise on your that weakness and make you another mindless zombie who only think of getting rich in one year.

Credit goes to Wilz for sharing this piece of article in his status

Not again....

Here's a message which had been circulating around Yahoo Messenger for some time:

Ppl dun go to MMU lecture hall and use their toilet there is a spycam there..pls forward and warn all ur friends... ppl have been forwarding images of ppl in the doing business...stupid idiots

Here's another version of the message, which seems to be the original source of the above message but seem to be the less popular.

Ppl dun go to Tesco Puchong and use their toilet there is a spycam there..pls forward and warn all ur friends...stupid idiots

Which asshole is so free to modify a forwarded message. First of all the message will cause unnecessary panic among MMU-ians and secondly it is very unethical. Please be ethical when using the internet people. In case no one had read my previous posts regarding this subject, click here.

P.S: The version about Tesco Puchong is just another internet rumour. Please do not believe it. None of the rumours is proven correct. Til' then don't forward anymore messages that can cause panic unless it is something called NEWS.

Spam!!!

Dammit, I just can't believe it. My comments area for my blog entries is spammed! DIE SPAMMERS DIE!!!! I just can't believe that spam had made its way to blogs. ARGH... I am so disgusted.

Poor kitty >_<

I was having dinner with my dear when I noticed a group of kids are bullying a crippled kitten. The poor kitty had one rear leg broken and is sitting helplessly when a group of kids are bullying it. They are slapping the poor kitty with leaves and poking it's eyes. To my surprise, the parents of these bunch of rascals is just sitting at another corner witnessing their children bullying the cat. My heart immediately broke. I have this sudden urge of standing up and scold the children them not to treat a helpless animal like that but unfortunately, their parents are there.

After witnessing this incident I thought to myself, what are parents teaching their children nowadays? Is it ok for their children to bully a crippled animal just like that? Did they pamper their kids so much that they can turn a blind eye on their children bullying a helpless animal? Or parents are more worried of their children's academic performance that they simply do not care about their children's morality? Things like that really distrubed me greatly.

The Malaysian Dream

Yes people I am still alive and kicking and so is this blog. Been busy for the past few weeks so I am not able to update my blog. Ok for my first blog entry since... since... a very long time I will talk about my Malaysian Dream for this National Day.

So what dream am I dreaming of you might ask? Well, I dream that one day we will have one united Malaysia. We might looked like a peaceful multi-ethnic, multi-religious and multi-cultural country on the outside, but if u look deep enough you can see we are very much seperated. Racial discrimination might not be at a deadly level, it is still very disturbing. It is not uncommon to see one race stereotyping another. It is also not uncommon to see people sticking to their own race when it comes to choosing friends.

But then again, there are still some people who can mix around with other races. So lets hope one day not just these people but everyone in Malaysiacan be more racial tolerant and make Malaysia more united. Only by uniting the people can we see a better Malaysia.

It's a good day to die....

3 more hours to my last paper and I don't have any mood to study. Kinda sucky really its as if I had given up all hope of passing. Looking at the bright side, I can study for the next 2 months to prepare for my supplementary test since I am so sure I am going to screw this test up.

If only learning about machines is as easy as using it.

Vision 2020?

More than a decade ago our "beloved" ex-dictator... i mean ex-Prime Minister Tun Mahathir had targeted the year 2020 to be the year where Malaysia will enter First World status. More then a decade later we are still going no where near Second and a half World. Here are the few of the many problems plaguing Malaysia from entering First World:

1. Dirty drinking water - Admit it all the water which are process by Malaysia are either too muddy (sometimes the water taken from the well is way much clearer then the water from my tap) or the chlorine smell is way too strong. There is no guarantee of survival if any of you drink straight from the tap without any filter.

2. Racial polarisation - The races in Malaysia had never been anymore seperated since 1965. In some schools for example the English College in Johor Bahru, there are a special class for the Malays. Some newspaper carry racial remarks. In my ex-secondary school, only the Chinese are called over for the gangsterism talk. It is as if that only Chinese are gangsters.

3. Government control over the mainstream media - Some issues which will "harm the tourism industry" are all censored from the newspaper. During year 2000 there was a dengue outbreak, hospitals everywhere are full of dengue patients and yet there aren't even a single news report about the outbreak. When the newspaper report the rise of snatch thefts in Malaysia the tourism minister tried to censor it by condemning the newspaper of dramatising the news. Any editorials criticising the government are all censored off. If the editorials ever get into the newspaper by chance the writer of that editorial will get the boot.

4. Corruption aplenty - Every government department, are guilty of corruption. When our new Prime Minister first entered the office he promise to clean out the system. Before the elections news about ministers or CEOs being caught by police because of corruption is in headlines everyday. Right after the elections there are not even a single news regarding their trial. Out of a sudden Malaysia seems "clean".

5. Pirates heaven - Where else in this world can you find original softwares much more expensive than buying a computer? The government blame us for supporting piracy but little did they realise about the cost of one original copy of MS Office. In 2003, our government said they will wipe out every single pirates until they are gone BUT right after 2003 it seems that the police suddenly had forgotten about this issue.

6. Backward thinking - Instead of moving forward, the government is moving backwards. They had implemented snoop squads to snoop at couples. Couples are caught for holding hands. Cyber cafes are raided frequently by the police for no obvious reasons. Malays are being caught for "indecent clothings". To think that back in the 1950s Malaysia is much more open-minded than today.

7. Kampung mindset - Let's admit it, Malaysian are still kampung people. They can't maintain anything. Today the government gave them a beautiful park, after a year the park is vandalise, rubbish is everywhere and the fishes in the pond are all dead because of the things the people throw in it. Another thing that really bothers me is people spitting everywhere. Go to any shopping centre and you might come upon a few lumps of spit everywhere in the carpark or worse in the shopping centres itself.

8. Road safety minimal - It seems to me that we Malaysians are pretty proud of having one of the most dangerous roads in the world. The way Malaysians drive, even Michael Shumacher will be afraid to drive in our roads. Click here for more details.

9. Censorship - We just love to censor things. Even kissing scenes are cut off from movies. The worse being movies being cancelled of because of their movie titles. Austin Powers : The Spy Who Shagged Me was banned because of its name because of the word "Shagged". Daredevil was banned because the movie title have the name "Devil" in it and HellBoy is forced to change its title because of, what else? The word "Hell". Prince of Egypt was banned too and the reasons given by the local censorship board is the movie consists of Jewish elements. Moses was mention in the Quran for God's sake!!!!

So there you have it. Unfortunately these 9 things are just only the tip of the iceberg of problems plaguing Malaysia.

There is no peace without war....

That's a conclusion that I had made after playing Rome: Total War. Nope, this entry is not a review or anything about the game. Its all about this conclusion that I had come up. This might sound harsh but let's face it, that's how this World goes since men ever set foot of this God-given world. If any of you ever read history you find these 2 disturbing cycles. It's either:

Cycle 1
1. Building of a civilisation (or founding of a nation)

2. Civilisation/nation enters its golden ages.

3. Inner conflict

4. Civil War

5. Revolution

6. Peace for a period of time.

7. Repeat step 2 to 6.

OR:

Cycle 2
1. Building of a civilisation (or founding of a nation)

2. Civilisation/nation enters its golden ages.

3. Neighbouring nation/civilisation fear you might be a threat.

4. Invasion by a foreign nation.

5. War.

6. If the nation lost, they get conquered and then it will be a few years before the conquered nation fought back until they gain "independence".

If they are NOT conquered they will either:
a) Get attacked again
b) Strike back/Attack others
c) Read cycle 1.

7. Peace for a period of time

8. Repeat steps 2 to 6.

Here's a few examples of cycle one. This happened Right after Qin had finally unite the whole of China, Shi Huangdi died and left a huge political vacuum. All his ministers tried to fill this vacuum by fighting with each other to become emperor. Later an army of peasants led by Liu Bang revolted and then the Han dynasty was form. Peace was then restored, the Han dynasty prospered until the Yellow Turban rebellion . This cycle will repeat for a number of 16 times until the communist China we know of today. Another example of cycle one can be seen after the death of Alexander the Great. Alexander died without leaving an heir which cause his great empire to be seperated into 4 parts. Each of them wanted to take over his empire. Of course later none of it were able to unify the lands and was later either absorbed by the Roman Empire or been conquered by the Parthians.

-R.I.P- Pope John Paul II

May the Lord bless your soul. A soul that had carrued the burden of leading the Roman Catholic Church into a new era. A soul whose influence is far greater than any World leader for the past 26 years. A soul who had escape from the clutches of death twice due o assasination attempts. A soul who practice what the Lord had preach by forgiving the men who tried to kill you. A soul who devote his life in trying to bridge the gap between religions by spearheading inter faith forums and seminars.

I might had condemn some of your doctrines and your ultra-conservative beliefs such as trying to ban contraceptions, canonising saints without much investigations but by the end of the day I believe you are a great man and also the one of the greatest leader God had given to the Catholic Church. I can only pray that your successor would be a man as great as you.

May your soul rest in peace in heaven and may the Lord bless you.

Amen.

The right and the left

The semester break is soon approaching and as usual I will be going back to my hometown. Being home is always great. No need to worry where to eat (lunch and dinner is always on time ^_^), my comfortable bed, my wonderful parents, my room, my Kyoko Fukada posters, hanging out with me "brothers" (my close friends) and many more. What's so wonderful about being at home to me is debating with my father. Yup, you heard it correctly, DEBATE WITH MY DAD. What do we debate on? Nearly everything. From politics, religion, life and almost anything "debatable".

My home is like the U.S Congress (its like the Parliament) where it consists of the liberal (left-wing) (me) and the conservative (right-wing) (my dad). Here's the lowdown on our differences:

In politics, my dad is a hardcore Mahathir supporter. A loyal supporter to the Barisan Nasional and is always defensive of its policies and always criticise the opposition parties. For me I believe in a balance in power so that power will not corrupt if too much power is given to a particular party. I support good government policies and criticise the bad. I do not support any political party and the closest I get to supporting is the rocket.

Religion-wise, my dad is a devout follower of the Roman Catholic faith. Follow without a question of what the Vatican wants. Truly believe in the Vatican and its doctrines. He condemns Protestants and labeled their teachings as faulty and not cannot be consider true Christians. For me, I believe in the Roman Catholic faith as well but unlike my dad I am always full of questions of its teachings. Unlike most Catholics out there, I tend to dig up on the history of my faith which sometimes lead me to believe that some of the teachings is there to secure the power of the Vatican instead of true religious purposes. I embrace my Protestants brothers and sisters and never afraid to discuss or debate Christianity with them. I also tend to read and discuss about other religions.

When it comes to education, my dad like most of the "educated Chinese uncles", strongly believe that a good education will lead to a better life. He believes if you have good education you will find a good job in the future. What about me? I am a rebel of that idea. I believe that having a good education doesn't mean you might get a good job because nowadays you see lots of first-class students jobless. I believe that a degree can't prove shit it is the practical stuffs that can take us places. Getting a good job does not convince me because I want to be an employer not an employee in the future ^_^

That's about all the most frequent debated topics we debate about at home. I guess the won't be any silence in the house for the coming two months ^_^

Quake II - Sumatra

Since nearly every Malaysian blog is talking about the earthquake which hit Sumatra a few days back, I might as well hop in the bandwagon. Unlike the quake last year the death toll is only a fraction of it. Still 400 is a big sum (as of writing time). My condolences and sympathy to the family members of the people affected.

On the positive side, at least you won't see all those corporate hypocrites donating huge sum of money just to get publicity. Why pour in millions of ringgit only when some big natural disaster which happens once in a blue moon and not those unfortunate people we see in everyday life? Also you won't see tens of millions of ringgit disappear into the pockets of corrupted officials.

Hopefully the next time there is a major quake it would be directly under the White House with the Georgy in it.

My Current Babe

Just when I thought today was just a normal boring day, Victor, my roomate's friend came to my house (to discuss assignment with my roomate) and told me whether have I recieved an instant message he send me through Yahoo! Messenger. Since I didn't on my YM for the whole day (I was sleeping the whole day) I ask him what he send me. He said he send me a japanese idol's name and ask me to go search in google. So after he went back I on my YM to check what he send me and this is how the message goes:

victorchua_ck (11:48:35): i wan u to witness d GODLIKE thing!!
victorchua_ck (11:48:35): irie saaya - 11 years old

My first impression was "11 years old? Dude I am not a paedophile!" but since he already describe her as "GODLIKE", I googled her name. Once I saw her pictures my jaws dropped, heck, even my roomates jaws drop as well. I am not going to describe her in words, I will my as well show you the picture here:

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Yes people she is only ELEVEN YEARS OLD! Yet she have such a great figure! From her biography it stated that her figure was 30-22-32 F-Cup and she was born in November 1993!!! I nearly fainted when I saw it. I am still wondering why on earth would her parents let her do such a photoshoot? Yea, she might look mature and all that but she is after all 11 years old dammit. I wonder what was her parents thinking there >_

Malaysian Politics

Does Malaysian politics puzzle you? Don't worry, yours truly had gone through the touble and try to translate what all of the policies you see today actually meant.

  1. Undergraduates are not allowed to take part in any political parties/activities - In Malaysia "Political Parties" meant "Opposition Parties". Just in case you are that ignorant, it means don't go to any rally where you see Rockets, Two Crescent Moons, A Full Moon or rallies that does not have the Scale in it. So if you want to take part in political activities (and it happens you are a undergrad) and do not want any lawsuits against you, just make sure you join the correct symbol

  2. You are a threat to national security - It means it is a threat to the government. Why use the term "national security"? That's because they can use it as an excuse to throw you in ISA and never be heard again.

  3. Such actions/activities will jeopardise racial intergration - This only apply if that activity consists of all Chinese, Indian or dan lain-lain.

  4. "**insert a government-funded project** is going to cost one billion ringgit" - This sentence though it sounded like a normal human language is actually encrypted by a top-government device. After decoding it, it will sound like this "Only 100 million will go into the project while the other 900 million will go to my new 100 room mansion with a 1km swimming pool".

Well I guess that's all from now. If you have anymore to add you can post a reply to this entry.

Religious Spam PART 2

Damn nowadays religious spam is so hi-tech that it had made its way to my HANDPHONE. Argh~ I just recieve an anonymous SMS about a Good Friday celebration tonight. Just when I thought it was from someone I know, my housemate also recieved the same message >_<

Anyone know who's handphone number is 012-3635141 please reply ok?

A Tribute to a Great Man

Image hosted by Photobucket.comSince today is Good Friday I am going to dedicate this entry to a man who had inspire and touched lifes of billions of people and continuing in doing so each and everyday. A Man whose legacy, teachings and story had been circulating the World ever since his death some two thousand years ago. Yes, that Man (if you had not guess it correctly already) is none other than Jesus Christ a Man who Christians regard as the only Son of God while the Muslims regard him as their prophet Nabi Isa (pbuh).

Being a Christian, a Catholic to be precise, today marks a special day to us because it is a day which reminds us of the day Christ died for us all. Why is Good Friday so special to us you may ask. This is because it is only after His death (and ressurection) that Christianity truly spread out. It is also the day where we Christian believe that he died for us so to cleanse and release us from the original sin which was pass down by Adam and Eve. It is also the day he accepts His predestined death.

For those who wants to know more about Him you can always watch "The Passion of the Christ" (if you can bear with the brutal torturing scenes) which in my opinion is the best potrayal of Christ in any movie ever.

Chain Mails >_<

Ok people let's be honest here, how many of you believe in Chain Mails. You know those annoying mails, messages that ask you to pass to many people as possible so that you will get good luck and if you didn't pass around you might get bad luck, haunted by a ghost or **insert family members here** will die in an hour. Come on people, don't tell me you guys actually believe in such childish thing? I mean getting those mail/messages is freakin' annoying enough but getting the same annoying messages/mail over and over again just piss me off.Do you actually think that you will get good luck if you pass it around? How many of you actually experienced it? How many of you had seen your friends drop dead just because you did not pass a digital message?

Its just plain childish for University students to believe that a simple digital message/mail can boost your luck. Maybe they had watch too much Japanese and Korean horror flicks to believe that digital messages can actually cause death and bad luck >_<. Do you think that it is real? Some chain mails are even stupider, it will tell you to pass this on to as many people as possible to avoid deletion of you e-mail account or the most recent your Friendster account. This had also for time and time again been reported as FALSE by those companies in their OFFICIAL STATEMENTS and NEWSPAPER REPORTS. For those ignorant people, each e-mail service provider or any service provider have their own terms and condition and they will not simply delete people's account for such stupid reasons. So please go read the TOS each time you register an account for any website. So people, I urge you not to be so ignorant and please use your common sense each time you have the urge to send a chain mail!

Here are a few popular chain messages which had been circulating furiously in my Yahoo! Messenger and Friendster Bulletin Board.

MUST READ!!! LIFE AND DEATH ON THE LINE!!!

biggest shock in your life. if you break this chain u

next 10yrs. post this within 15 min

My love life had been bad enough and seeing these type of messages just piss me off badly >_<
A simple forward this mail to other will be a meritorious deed, and it doesn't waste much of your time. Thank you for doing that in advance. **insert a random name** : Tel : **insert random number here**, Fax : **insert random fax number here**. Please forward to the person who has AB blood type of bone marrow and hope everybody will forward the mail to your friends so that they can have the opportunity to find the "right person" to help. We anxiously need a AB blood type of person to donate his/her bone marrow, and although it only have very little chance to match, but we still have hope for it. Because of your loving kindness to pass the mail along, she may stand a chance to recover. So, please put a little effort, the little girl may have chance to live because of you.

Don't you think it is kinda suspicious that nearly ALL of the victim's bloodtype is AB and nearly all of them are either in need of a bone marrow or they have blood cancer? Go figure!

send tHis on to at least 10 contacts in 10 Mins as a sign of respect for the tSUnaMi in asia if you break tHis cHain a Boy that died in the accident will stand in your room tonight at Midnight. No send backs. sorry

I did not send the message when I got this message 1 month ago and I am still pretty much alive and kicking.

Alpha Students Woes.....

Nowadays there had been so many messages circulating in my Yahoo! Messenger about have been "thrown" to Cyberjaya and wanted to exchange with those who are "thrown" to Melaka. Unfortunately for all of the Cyber "prisoners" the demand is more than the supply or should I say there is no supply to the demand. So here's what I suggest you guys to do:

1. Write a petition to STAD and a copy to SRC and get as many people to sign as possible (it will be best if you guys can gather all the "prisoners").

2. Next, write an online petition and pass the link around stating something like this: "We are paying students, why can't we choose the campus we want?" or something like that. Then pass the link to all the angry "prisoners" or in a typical MMU student way to everyone in your contact list.

3. Maybe you are asking how to write an online petition? Here's the link. Just click HERE!

4. The last step, if all of you people successfully get the campus you want, remember to treat me makan.

Unemployment... Who's to blame?

Recently there had been a series of articles regarding how graduates are getting unemployed. Here's one of the example here. It says that our PM is worried about the unemployment rate in our beloved nation. The article also mentioned about a total of 80,000 graduates are unemployed just last year. So I am asking this question: Who's to blame?

Maybe some ministers will point the finger at us saying we are too choosy when it comes to choosing work or they will blame us for irrelevant skills (in this case here our Human Resource Minister is blaming the female graduates). Then there will always be the uncles and aunties who condemn local graduates of being no-class. Trust me, I had faced tons of "compliments" from the chinese uncle and aunty population about how local universities suck and studying in it means "no future".

True, we (graduates and undergraduates) might be partly to blame here, but why are the whole society, led by our low-ranking Ministers (trust me, in Malaysia it is usually the low-ranking Ministers especially those you had never heard of make the loudest noise from religious issues to education to anything under the sun!) are pointing the finger at us for being the sole reason of this national problem? Why can't the government see they are partly to be blame as well?

They are the ones that approve so many colleges and private Universities in the first place. They are the one that refuses to venture into more job oppoturnities. Just look at our IT industry, the biggest player in Malaysia IT industry is sadly the PIRATES. Look at our art industry, it is still in its infancy which seems to me there is no hope of growing unless the government start to pay attention to it. The R&D in our country? What? There's R&D in our country? Heck, I am sure most of the people in Malaysia (aunty and uncles and ministers included) don't even know what R&D is! To those who are still ignorant of what R&D is, it is the acronym of Research and Development. Or look at the entertainment industry, the music industry is stale there is only the Malay music scene, the Chinese, unless they go overseas, they are doomed to singing Chinese New Year songs for the rest of their careers. How about the English music scene? Most of them are surprisingly good but unfortunately fails to break into the international circuit due to lack of funds to promote them overseas.

The movie industry is plagued by the censorship, lousy directors and horrible scripts and most of the movies produced are aim at the Malay audience. Only once in a while you see a "Sepet" that is loved by all the races in Malaysia. The video gaming career despite being given much exposure these few years don't seem to have any success. Reason? Low-ranking Ministers and the aunty/uncle population threatening to close all cyber cafes because playing video games will "destroy your future". Little do they know that some individuals earn more than them just by playing video games >_<.

There are so many job opportunities that the government can explore but yet they are sitting there pointing the fingers at us telling us that we are to blame. True like I said just now, we are partly to be blame but we are not the sole reason. Since the government can pour in tons of money just to build World class buildings and some useless expedition to satisfy their ego, why not pour in those money to help their people getting employed and make Malaysia a world class society instead?

Sorry folks!

To those who had experiece pop-up ads while visiting my blog, I would like to apologise. I never expect the web counter that I had placed in my blog to be so harmful. So starting from today I had decided to remove the web counter until I found a spam free one.

Today's weather~

Only two words to describe today's weather:

F***ING HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes people, those messages that circulated in our Yahoo! Messenger is true (click on the link I provided to see the news article). I can feel the sun burning my beautiful skin this afternoon 1pm to 6pm. Sigh~ hope it rains soon.

Congratulations to... us!! :-P

We did it! Yea~ The 8th Chinese New Year Extravaganza (CNYE8) had won the Best Event (non-sport) Category in the Ecalatant (pronounced as EK-LEN). True I admit that the event is not satisfying (to me that is) but hey at least we got some recognition for our hardwork and that's something to be happy about.

I would like to take this oppoturnity to thank the Chinese Language Society's Hi-Com for giving me the chance to be a part of the CNYE8. I would also like to thank all the working committees that make it happen. Without ou guys there will be no CNYE8. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the organising committees of CNYE8 a.k.a the CNYE8 family. It seem that the 6 months of sweat, tears and effort had finally been paid off.

Last but not least I would like to thank everyone that had participated in all the CNYE8 events.

P.S: Congratulations to the Chinese Language Society too for winning the Best non-Sport Club.

Memories: Gaming

Starting from today I am going to have a column called "Memories" which I will write all the memorable stuffs I had during something eg. Gaming, Sports, Movies and etc. For the very first segment of "Memories" I will write about my video gaming moments.

Best Game Ever Played - Final Fantasy VII
Like I had mention before this is the first console RPG ever played which is the most memorable. It consists of a great story, a likeable casts of supporting characters, good character development, great graphics (during that time of course) and tons of memorable events.

Saddest Moment While Playing a Game - Aeris Death
Trust me, I nearly cried. She's my most favourite female character to date. When she died during the end of disc one (total of three disc) I nearly heard my heart break. Never had I grew so attach to a game character (what's more she looks like someone straight out of a LEGO set during gameplay and cartoonish during cutscenes). I am sure there are lots of people like me. Two more sad moments that I had encountered during gaming sessions are the revealing of The Boss true mission in Metal Gear 3 and the death of **SPOILERS ALERT** Chopper in Ace Combat 5. But none of the two come close to what Squaresoft (now Square Enix) had did to me :-D

Best Story in a Game - Xenogears
To some gamers the story of Xenogears is draggy. Some said they don't understand what it is actually trying to say. To me its the best story I had ever seen. It contains lots of religious elements in it. The story is hardly predictable. You never know what will happen until it really happen. Too bad the graphics suck and the gameplay is mediocre.

Biggest Letdown in a Game - Final Fantasy VIII
Despite having one of the greatest graphics the Playstation can handle and two of the most popular video game character ever, it suck. True it is not bad compared to other games, but it definitely is a big disappointment to those who had played the much more superior FF7.

Funniest Moment in a Game - "Give me the keys" cutscene from the Lucasart's game Armed and Dangerous
I had never laughed so hard playing a game before PERIOD.

Most Addictive Game - Championship Manager series
Refusing to sleep, refusing to leave the computer screen, neglecting homework, ignoring your friends and getting fustrated everytime your team loses no matter how many times you reset it, that is how addictive the Championship Manager series is. There should be a warning lable in front of the CD cover.

Most Frightening Moment in a Game - Every single second playing Fatal Frame 2
Just 20 minutes into the game and I am scared stiff. All I can say is that I am frightened every single second playing that game.

Most Fustrating Moment in a Game - License Exams in all Grand Turismo series
The game is so realistic that each wrong timing will make you blow your test. Sometimes it is so fustrating that you want to break the disc into a million pieces. Maybe I suck at racing games.

Sickest Moment in a Game - Killing someone with a plastic bag in Manhunt
Manhunt is the sickest game I had ever played. There is so many killing methods you can apply on your enemies but the plastic bag is definitely the worse.

Things that you can see only in Malaysian roads

  1. We can make a 3 lane road into 5 lanes.

  2. In Malaysia the zebra crossing is non-existant even to the police.

  3. In Malaysia yellow lights mean ACCELERATE while red lights means ACCELERATE MORE. Green means STOP because if you don't, you might knock the car coming from the opposite direction.

  4. Being a government official can allow you to break every single traffic law and yet still come late for a function you are suppose to attend.

  5. Accidents causes traffic jams not because of the cars involved obstruct the traffic but instead passerbys slowing down their cars to watch what happened. Some might even stop their cars in the middle of the road to join in the argument (or jot down the car numbers to try their luck in their "weekly investment" at the lottery shop).

  6. Only in Malaysia can you see a family of five sometimes six if the mother is pregnant all on ONE motorcycle with no helmets on.

  7. Cars that sounded like it can break the sound barier but in reality it can only go up to 120km/h max.

  8. Cars below 900cc bearing the Ferrari logo.

  9. The standard price for the police to turn a blind eye on your traffic offenses is RM50. You might get a discount if you do not bring enough money.

  10. Signboards are always placed behind a tree while advertisment billboards can be seen a kilometre away.

Anticipation....

Here are a list of things that I can't wait

7. Black and White 2 : Black and White is the most innovative game I had ever played. Naturally its sequel will have me anticipating it with high hopes.

6. Final Fantasy XII : This will be the 12th Final Fantasy ever made. Final Fantasy had been one of my favourite game series of all time. After 4 disappointing outings (FF8, FF9, FF10 and FF10-2) hopefully this one will finally deliver. Note: This is also the biggest Final Fantasy logo ever.

5. Initial D Live Action Movie : One of my favourite anime series Initial D had finally hit the big screen featuring real life actors. Ironically this Japanese manga is adapted to the big screen by a Hong Kong movie production company. With a star-studded cast featuring the debut of Taiwanese ultra-popular singer Jay Chou, one of my favourite Hong Kong actor Anthony Wong, Edison Chan, Chapman To and most importantly the custom-made Toyota Trueno 86 shows lots of potential to be a blockbuster success. Hopefully Jay will not screw it up :-P

4. Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas (PC edition) : The best Playstation 2 game of 2004 that I had ever played will finally cross over to the PC this June. Being 300km away from my Playstation 2 obviously can't let me enjoy the full potentials of the game. Hopefully the people in Rockstar North will fix the bugs and enhance the graphics by the time it hits the PC.

3. Batman Begins : Ever since I watched the very first Batman movie starring Michael Keaton (the best actor to had ever wear the Dark Knight's cape) I had become a fan instantly. Then comes Batman Returns, a worthy sequel to the first movie it make me a bigger fan. After that everything had gone down hill for the Dark Knight. Batman Forever and Batman and Robin sucks so badly that make people forget the first two movies even existed. So after I heard the news that there will be a new Batman which will have more drama and have a darker tone to it I immediately jump into anticipation because being a Batman fan (movies only :-P) I am hoping that someone will finally do the Dark Knight justice.

2. Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children : A movie sequel to the Playstation hit Final Fantasy 7. Final Fantasy 7 was and STILL my favourite console RPG ever and being the first console RPG game I had ever played the story had left a big impression in my heart. It is also the only game that nearly made me cry. Hopefully this movie will finally answer some of the questions that had not been answered in the game. Hopefully they will revive Aeris.

1. Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith : After waiting for so long, George Lucas finally announced the last installment to the Star Wars series. Being a big fan of Star Wars ever since I first saw "The Empire Strikes Back" (it was my first Star Wars movie) on TV during the early 90s (my interests in the series is again renewed after playing the game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic). This one also have the potential to be the best Star Wars movie ever since George Lucas promises it to be the darkest Star Wars movie ever. Again I am hoping this movie will not suck like the previous two movies (The Phantom Menace and The Attack of the Clones).

Thanks guys!

I would like to take this oppoturnity to thank everyone involve in the drama titled "Qin" (loosely translated as love or in this case family love in mandarin). The first person that I would like to thank is none other than Bryan. You are the real director, not me, I only supervise and gave a few opinions while you are the one directing and put everyone together. Thank you.

Next I would like to thank Jia Feng for translating the script (Sorry that I can't write it in mandarin), Siaw Yin for the excellent acting as a grandmother, Wan Yin, Elson (spelling?) you two did an impressive job and exceeded my expectations, Raymond for the breakdance and also doing a great job being the robber and Vinci (pai seh dunno how to spell your name).

Special thanks to the two girls (sorry I do not know their name) for always be there to look at our drama.

Overall I am very happy and satisfied with the outcome. You all had acted out exactly what I wanted. I really can't thank all of you enough. Thanks again. Hopefully in the future we all can still work together and also hopefully next time we will get more "air time".

P.S : Last but not least I also wanted to give my thanks to Vian for listening to my problems when I nearly take back the script. Thanks for listening and support. He he... sorry forgot to thank you just now hehehe...

Say no to spyware! Say yes to Firefox!

Ok people, today I am here to share with all of you an experiece. It's called the Firefox experience. For those who is still living under the IT shell and do not know what one earth it is let yours truly fill you in. Firefox is a free internet browser by Mozilla. It's totally free with no strings attached. Heck, its an open source software meaning those who are skilled in programming can alter the browser to their own liking. Maybe most of you had heard of it on the net, in the newspapers or maybe from friends who had just "converted" from Internet Explorer. Maybe most of you guys doubted about this web browser or had never heard of it or worse lazy to download it. If that's the case people, you had missed out a lot.

First of all the Firefox is a powerful browser. It's one of the fastest browser out there. Meaning, it loads website faster and more efficient than its M$ counterpart by the name of IE. Another great feature I come to love is the tab browsing which I abuse often :-D. What is tab browsing? Here's a screenshot about it. Try to notice the marker I'd made. With tab browsing you can browse as many sites you want all under one window. Unlike IE whenever you want to do "multi-browsing" you have to open a new window which will flood your taskbar like this.

Ok maybe you guys are still not impress by Firefox's functions. I am going to tell you the most powerful function of them all. It is very secure. It block most of the spyware and viruses out there. The security is a hundred times better than IE's. What's more, there is a pop-up blocker that comes with Firefox unlike IE where you have to get it from other softwares such as MSN or Yahoo!.

If you want to know more about Firefox's features you can always go to it's site here. While you are there, why not try downloading it? I can assure you that you won't use IE ever again without having some withdrawal symptoms.

Sigh~ This is Malaysia...

It was just yesterday MCA president, Dato' Seri Ong Ka Ting, sent a memorandum to our PM regarding the 9th Malaysian Plan requesting for more Chinese schools. I was happy to see that MCA finally seem to fight for the Chinese community. Unfortunately some UMNO ministers, being the racists they are, asked them to be more realistic.

According to our education minister, he said that it does not represent the well-being of the Chinese community. Had he been to a Chinese school? None of them are properly funded by the government. The government refuses to fund missionary schools and Chinese schools. Even if they did it will only be a small portion of what national schools recieved.

Aren't we taught in school that Malaysia is a multi-racial community? What is wrong with well-funded Chinese schools? What is wrong with setting up more Chinese schools? Most of them are overpopulated anyway. It seems to me that our ministers do not like the idea of a united Malaysia.

Here is an article by Utusan Malaysia about Pemuda UMNO rejecting the memorandum.

Huh? Spam? Me? Whoa?

Unbelievable! I can't believe that my computer auto-send a website that I had never enter before in the Friendster Bulletin. Anyone care to explain how on earth it attacked my account and send spam to the bulletin? Here's the screenshot.

Looks like those spam companies had becoming smarter. Any tips on countering it people? Need help here.
