The Snake and the Throne

This story is based on a true story written by yours truly. ^_^

Once a upon a time, there lived a snake with a big ambition. This snake here wants to rule the Celestial Empire. Unfortunately for him, the Empire can only be ruled by a Dragon (the chinese snake-like dragon not the Western Dinosaur-like Dragon). Before we go any further let's have a look at how the Celestial Empire works.

Year after year a new dragon will be selected by the Wisemen Council. Once selected, the dragon will have the power to rule the Celestial Empire along with a few other selected few to help him. As you can see, being a dragon ruling the Celestial Empire is no easy task, since the Celestial Empire is very vast in terms of land and wealth. A mismanagement will costs the Empire greatly so there is a need of selecting a capable dragon each year. A dragon can stay in power more than one year if its people and the wisemen thinks he is capable enough. Unfortunately leading such a huge empire usually will exhaust the dragon greatly and the chances of the dragon to retire after it finish its term is very high.

Ok, enough about the Empire. Now let's get back to the snake. As I had mentioned earlier, the ambitious snake wanted to rule the Empire. Unfortunately for him, he do not know that he isn't good enough for the job. So day after day he will proclaim loudly to the people that he will be the ruler of the land one day. Instead of improving his leadership, he dresses like a dragon, act like a dragon and talk like a dragon so that one day the people and the wisemen will be gullible enough to believe he is the next dragon they are looking for. To those who had never met the snake before will be tricked by his "dragonly" like appearance and might think he will make a good ruler but unfortunately for him, those who knew him will know he is only a dragon-wannabe.

So year after year he will try to convince people that he is a dragon, but year after year he failed greatly because he could not fool the people once they know the real him. Can the snake ever become a dragon one day and rule the Celestial Empire? Unless he can see his own weakness or else a snake can NEVER EVER be a dragon even if he acted like one.
